I’ve always thought it was a brilliant ‘tache style. Thing is, doing this has prompted me to get into FZ’s music and I’m loving it!
Apparently the Zappa ‘tache is copyrighted. Does this mean my face will be breaking the law if I get it too accurate?
What the… ? I would say you’re kidding, but this article in the Spiegel says, “the event, also sells merchandise complete with the unmistakable logo depicting Zappa’s unique facial hair, the moustache-soul patch combo. And that, says Gail Zappa, Frank’s widow and head of the Zappa Family Trust, violates the Zappa trademark.”
So yes, you will have your face sued off by Gail Zappa.

Most apposite! I can’t believe the Zappa is a recognised beard type. I think the best I can hope for from his list is the Federation, as I sport facial hair wispier than a light mist on a summer’s morn.
On a different note, I thought the Hollywoodian was something else entirely.
